ID is excited to welcome back Kevin Shah for the 2022 indoor percussion season. Kevin provided the music for the 2019/2020 season. This year, Kevin, along with Tony, will manage the music and design for the 2022 show. ID is glad to have you back.
Kevin Shah is an active designer and educator in the the world of the marching arts. As a composer for winds and percussion, Kevin owns and operates projectRISEmusic.com which features many of his works for marching band and percussion ensemble as well as prmworkshops.com, a home for world class education in marching arts design.
Kevin is very involved with Indoor Percussion and is currently the Music Designer for the 2019 PIW Gold Medalists, Broken City, the 2019 PSW Silver Medalists Arcadia High School, as well as Vista Murrieta High School. Kevin also serves on both the WGI Board of Directors and Percussion Steering Committee as well the on the Board of Directors for SCPA (Southern California Percussion Alliance).
In drum corps, most recently, Kevin served as the Creative Director for the Blue Knights in 2019 as well as the front ensemble designer from 2014-2019.
Kevin holds a B.M. in percussion performance from UCLA where he studied with Mitchell Peters, and an M.M. in percussion performance from the Juilliard School of Music where he studied with Greg Zuber, Daniel Druckman, Gordon Gottlieb, Joseph Pereira, and Roland Kohloff.
Kevin is a Yamaha Performing Artist, a Sabian Artist, and also uses and endorses Evans Drumheads and the D’Addario family of products. Most recently, Kevin, along with Tony Nunez, partnered with Promark to develop their SPYR line of mallets for mallet percussion.
